Avanté Plumbing does this work across Sonoma and Marin County under California CSLB licence #841938 (C-36 Plumbing). We work alongside your contractor and cabinet installer, or directly with you. The mistakes that cost most on a remodel are the invisible ones: a drain run at insufficient fall, a valve set too deep in the wall for the trim to reach, or a vent left undersized. All are cheap to get right at rough-in and expensive to fix once tiled over. Licensed for plumbing only — we do not take on HVAC or solar.

Remodel plumbing is quoted per job — the scope varies too much for a meaningful range. A full written estimate is $55.
Diagnostic fee is $45, and it comes off the cost of the job if you go ahead. Our standard labor rate is $175 an hour.

Does a bathroom remodel need a plumbing permit?
If the piping is altered, moved or extended, yes. And in parts of Marin the remodel itself triggers more than a building permit: Ross Valley Sanitary District's lateral programme is triggered by a remodel over $75,000 or by a remodel that adds a bathroom, and Sanitary District No. 5 in Tiburon by $50,000 of work counted cumulatively over three years.
When should the plumber be involved in a remodel?
Before the layout is fixed. Moving a toilet, a shower drain or a kitchen sink means moving drainage, and drainage needs fall and vent access — which the existing joist direction, slab and stack position may or may not allow. Establishing what can move cheaply and what cannot is a design-stage question, not something to discover after demolition.
